Two Months

Little Guy is 2 months now!  Where has time gone?!  LG is such a happy, laid back, baby these days.  Not much bothers him except: dirty diapers, upset tummy, and tiredness.  Other than that he is all smiles and ready to play.  He sleeps from 10pm-5am (most nights).  He got his two months shots and did great, just one scream and then was okay once momma picked him up.  Here are his stats from the check-up.

                                weight:                                   13 lbs 3 oz  (80%)
                                length:                                     23.75in       (76%)
                                head circumference:            15.75in       (47%)

First Daddy's Day

We had a great first Daddy's Day!  I helped Little guy make Daddy breakfast and surprised him with special gifts we had made:  a card with his footprints on them so we could remember how small those feet are, a coffee mug with pictures of us, and a frame of a picture of Daddy and LG when they both were little (they look so much alike).  LG even had his first giggle for Daddy that morning.  It was a fun first Father's Day!

LG,
Thank you for making daddy's first Father's Day so special!  He loved everything you did for him but most importantly he loved getting to hang out with you.  Your Daddy loves you so much and gets so excited at every chance to be with you.  You guys are going to be best buddies, just don't forget about mommy ;)

Love,
Mommy

PS Daddy says thank you for giving him your first giggle!

Bath Time

Little Guy loves bath time!  As long as you keep him nice and warm, he just lays there in a daze "soaking" it up.  It is momma's favorite time too.  Something so sweet and innocent about a clean, soft,  johnson & johnson smelling baby to snuggle with!

Mr. Safety

Little Guy is obsessed with "reading" warning labels on things.  When we put him in his swing, his eyes automatically go to the warning label everytime.  When I went to change him at a restaurant, his eyes went to the warning label on the changing station.  We get a huge kick out of it.  He is just like his daddy on making sure he is being safe.  Hopefully he stays "Mr. Safety" during his teenage years, that may be wishful thinking.

Grandad's Birthday

We spent Grandad's Birthday weekend here in Maumelle.  Abbi had a softball tournament here so they came to spend the weekend along with Gram and Grandad.  It was a very hot weekend so Little Guy (LG) and I were only able to watch a couple of Abbi's games and she played awesome!  Happy Birthday Grandad so glad we had the chance to hang out with you!

What a fun, exhausting weekend!

Memorial Day Weekend

Whew!  What an eventful weekend, I am tired just thinking about it.  We started off the weekend at our first overnight at Gram and Grandad's in their new home!  We loved their new place and are so happy for them.  LG can't wait until he can go with Gram and Grandad to the playground behind their house!  Here are some pictures from their house:

The next day we got up and went to Aunt Pam and Uncle David's house to hang out with more family!  We had so much fun and so many people to play with that we slept for 5 hours that night!

To end our fun-filled weekend; Papa, DeDe, and Grandma came to visit us.  We had a great time playing and hanging outside watching daddy plant flowers.

LG,
We had such a fun weekend with you, showing you off to all of our family.  They all couldn't believe how much you have grown the past couple of weeks.  We are also thankful for all the soldiers that have sacrificed their lives so that we can have the freedom to enjoy time with our family.  We pray that we instill in your heart the passion to sacrifice things for Christ.

Love,
Mommy and Daddy

The First Few

The first few weeks at home with our Little Guy (LG) were very eventful: for the world and for us!  LG lived through historic tornadoes that demolished cities, historic flooding that shut down an interstate, a Royal wedding that momma didn't care for but LG wanted to watch at 4am, the death of Osama Bin Laden, and a ton of dirty diapers and sleepless nights.

His first appointment went great!  The doctor said he was a healthy boy.  LG even managed to gain all of his birth weight back in a week, which usually takes 2 weeks.  The boy likes to eat!  Here are his stats from 1 week old:
                        weight:                         8lbs 5.6 oz   (55%)
                        length:                          21.25in         (91%)
                        head  circumference: 14 in              (34%)

Here are some pictures from his first few weeks:

LG,
Your mommy and daddy love you so much!  We have prayed for you for a long time now.  For your health, salvation, love for Christ, and discipleship for him.  You have so many people who love and care for you.  You bring so much joy to us and we are so proud of you.  May you always learn to lean on God and always see him through us.  We are so honored to be your parents!

Love always,
Mommy and Daddy

Our Little Easter Bunny

I am so thrilled to be starting this blog for our family and friends to keep up with us and for our own personal recollection of this journey as a family.

Let me start off by explaining the title of our family blog.  Since we have been together, Brad has always told me "I love you: this much backwards" and would put his hands tightly together.  It seemed fitting for our family blog title and I hope it becomes a popular quote in our household.

Our little boy joined this family April 23, 2011 at 4:52am  (Easter weekend) weighing 8lbs 6 oz and 19.5 in long.  Momma was in labor a long 25 hours.  It started Friday morning with contractions at the house.  We went to the hospital and I didn't progress fast enough so they sent me home.  My sweet friend met me at the house and "coached" me through the contractions.  The contractions kept getting stronger and closer together so we went back to the hospital at 4:00pm.  Luckily I was progressing so they did admit me.  The process was a long one, but after 2 hours of pushing we finally met our precious baby boy.

Our first night home was a memorable one.  We spent part of the night in a closet without electricity due to strong storms and a tornado approaching our area.  After the scare, it was quite comical and luckily didn't last long.  The rest of the night was spent trying to figure our little guy out and how he would sleep through the night.  Let's just say it included a trip to Walgreen's (in Little Rock) and taking turns holding him because he didn't like his pack-n-play.  Here are a few pictures from the hospital.
