16 and 17 Months

These last couple of months Parker has really slowed down on eating and become picky with it.  He went from eating lots of chicken nuggets at dinner to hardly eating one the whole day.  Parker's pediatrician warned us that he may do this because around this age they quit growing as much and require less calories.  He also has been working on 3 teeth at once too which I'm sure doesn't help.  His vocabulary is taking off now but just within the past couple of weeks.  He will repeat certain words like: puppy, nose, momma, dadda, shoes, go go go, and hat.

Other things he is up to:
  • starting to get attached to monkey and puppy during bedtime
  • better at entertaining himself in the crib if he is awake
  • totally a momma's boy
  • recognizing people in pictures
  • likes to "cook" with blocks and empty coffee cans and wooden spoons
  • Becoming obsessed with shoes, always wants them on and sometimes to nap in

Daddy and Parker have a game.  Every night Puppy hides somewhere for Parker to find in the morning.  This particular morning he snuck into the swing and swiped Parker's pirate hat.  And no, Parker does not use the swing anymore, we have friends who come over often with their newborn.

This is what happens on Saturdays while mommy works and Daddy
"needs" to watch football.  Daddy sets the portable DVD player up for
Parker to watch "Despicable Me"  (his favorite movie)
